Visitors will definitely enjoy this beach since it is quite empty and exactly as the name implies, it is a huge beach with stretches of white sand. This beach also provides several facilities such as a picnic area and restrooms.
Quieter Beaches on the East Coast
Visitors travel to the eastern part of the island will find unique but still amazing beaches since the majority of beaches in this area are surrounded by lush scenery. People love the beaches in this area since they are quite scenic, colorful and best of all secluded.
People planning a trip to East Maui are recommended to visit Hamoa Beach. When you travel through the main road approaching the beach, you will notice palm trees and colorful indigenous plants throughout Hamoa Beach. For a change in scenery, visitors can try the black volcanic sands of Hana Bay Beach which is directly off the Hana Highway.
Visitors that are into a bit of adventure may want to visit the Red Sand Beach since they will have to go through a long narrow path along the coastline to reach this location. People looking for some privacy should definitely go to this beach since it is very secluded. They can enjoy snorkeling or swimming without seeing anybody else for miles.
The Big Waves in the Northern and Central Region
Some of the biggest waves in the world crash off the shores of Hawaii beaches. Near the town of Paia exists the biggest waves on the island of Maui. Ho'okipa beach also has gusts that produce some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing in the world.
For those looking for a calmer beach in this region, Baldwin Beach is the place to go. the waves are not as huge here, so this location is a better spot for swimmers and bodysurfers.
While Maui has more beaches than the above mentioned, these are the most popular and sought after beaches when taking a trip to this Hawaiian island.
