Thailand is know for its beautiful sandy beaches, which means there will be large crowds due to the popularity. While some tourists want to hit the hot spots, others may be looking for a more relaxing time away from the popular tourist spots, but not in total seclusion.
Throughout Thailand, there are numerous beaches along the coastlines that stretch along the southern and southwestern coast. Many of the beaches have crystal clear waters and fine sand to catch the sun. These breathtaking beaches are the ideal way to start a vacation.
Most people have heard of Phuket and Pattaya, but let's take a look at the lesser-known but more patronized beautiful beaches the country has to offer.
The Beaches of Koh Samai
To begin, there are the beaches of Koh Samui. These are looked upon as the most tranquil and picturesque beaches. Visitors could bask under shady trees and take pleasure in the serene breeze. On the island is the Lamia beach that is a peaceful place. Visitors who are in Koh Samui and want to take part in activities that the beaches offer could head to Chaweng beach for a little more excitement.
Beaches Close to Bangkok
Cha Am is about 150 km to the south of Bangkok city. The location is just right for those who want to stay near the city but want to enjoy a weekend at the beach. Another advantage of visiting Cha Am is that it is located very close to a few historical places, which is why it is a popular option for people enjoying summer holidays who want a tan and also experience the place’s culture.

Koh Lanta offers pristine beaches just far enough away from the crowds. Since Koh Lanta is only about 70 km (44 mi) south of Krabi Town, you can still get a taste of the more active spot if you like. Also on the west coast not far form the Malaysia border is the Tarutao archipelago, which includes Ko Tarutao, Ko Lipe and other exotic islands.
Quieter Beach in Phuket
While the tourist spots of Patong, Karon, Katayou on Phuket are known for a party atmosphere, you can still get away from the craziness while still being in Phuket. The beach of Ya Nui is hidden at the foot of a hill between Windmill and Phrom Thep viewpoints. It offers a place for snorkeling or kayaking in the alluring cove and a good spot for fishing.
If you are planning a trip to Thailand, you will not be limited to crowded beaches, but have the option to find less touristy beaches. There are so many stunning beaches to spend your time while enjoying your vacation.
